India's ambitious Earth observation program was commissioned in March 1988 with the launch of Indian Remote Sensing Satellite 1A (IRS-1A). Since then the program has provided data for the management of natural resources and other tasks such as the mapping and planning of urban areas. The sensors of subsequent missions are designed to provide data continuity and to utilise recent technical progress at the same time.
The subpages provide fact sheets summarising the missions' sensor parameters. |
