The Indian Remote Sensing Satellite IRS Oceansat-2
has been successfully launched into polar orbit on September 23, 2009.
The mission carries three payloads, namely the Ocean Colour Monitor (OCM) and a Ku-band scatterometer for oceanic studies, and the Radio Occulation Sounder for Atmospheric studies (ROSA).
